Australian Taekwondo and the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation have signed an MOU that will see the two federations come together to offer training and development opportunities for coaches and athletes.

The agreement, signed over the weekend by Australian Taekwondo President Hassan Iskander and the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation President Truong Ngoc De, will see the two federations organise periodic training and development courses and regularly exchange taekwondo experts and senior coaching teams in both Kyorugi and Poomsae.

"I'm delighted to sign this agreement with the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation. This is a significant step in working more closely with our Vietnam counterparts to provide more substantial development opportunities for our athletes and coaches," said Australian Taekwondo President Hassan Iskander.

The collaboration will include an international conference for professional coaches and athletes for Australia, Vietnam, and neighbouring countries.

"This will be a good opportunity for Vietnamese martial artists to promote the development of Taekwondo as well as build a long-term cooperative relationship between the two countries in the future," said Vietnam Taekwondo Federation President Truong Ngoc De.

Vietnam has a team of leading coaches and experts in the region and has always been at the top of the world rankings in continental and regional Poomsae championships.

Australian Taekwondo welcomes this agreement and looks forward to working with the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation in developing our coaching and athlete talent.
