At the end of September, World Taekwondo held an online training seminar for International Referees appointed to the World Open Poomsae Challenge 3 Online Championships to ensure that International Referees appointed to the event maintained the highest levels of understanding and quality in officiating standards.

Australia was in an enviable position, with two referees appointed to the event and benefiting from the World Taekwondo Training Seminar conducted by World Taekwondo Poomsae Committee Member Grand Master Mustapha Moutarazak (pictured) during the training.

Mr Ross Hartnett (WA) and Mr Seongweon Yun (QLD), both members of Australian Taekwondo’s National Poomsae Officiating Committee, were the two Australian Taekwondo members invited to take part.

The training, designed to enhance online officiating skills, is an integral part of keeping abreast of current rules and interpretations.

The National Poomsae Officiating Committee encourages its members to engage in learning and practising opportunities as often as possible.

This ensures that when conducting courses and training in Australia, the NPOC is up to date with the latest information from World Taekwondo.

The National Poomsae Officiating Committee is currently developing a new Referee curriculum that will include online training and learning elements for Australian Taekwondo Members.
