Australian Taekwondo National Championships 2024: The Pinnacle of Taekwondo in Australia

Brendale, QLD – October 2024 – Australian Taekwondo is excited to announce that the 2024
Australian Taekwondo National Championships will be held from November 8 to November 10
at the South Pine Sporting Complex in Brendale, Queensland. This prestigious event will
bring together the nation’s top athletes, coaches, and taekwondo enthusiasts for three days of
thrilling competition.

The Championships will feature a wide array of Taekwondo disciplines, including Kyorugi
(sparring), Poomsae (forms), and Breaking. With divisions spanning children aged 8 to masters
aged 31+, as well as Para Taekwondo categories, this event will showcase the incredible talent
and dedication of over 1,000 athletes who have qualified through their state championships.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery expressed his excitement at hosting the
championships locally.

"This event reflects the healthy and active lifestyle that we value and is a prime example of the
high-calibre sporting events that City of Moreton Bay and South Pine Sporting Complex support.
“I wish the 1,000 or so athletes competing over the three-day event the best of luck and
encourage you and your families to explore some of the other experiences City of Moreton Bay
has to offer.

“From stunning hinterland destinations, our beautiful bayside communities, and fantastic food
and shopping venues, there is plenty to make memories from in Moreton Bay.”

Australian Taekwondo President Jean Kfoury also highlighted the significance of the event:

"The National Championships are the pinnacle of competition in Australian Taekwondo,
showcasing the incredible talent, dedication, and sportsmanship of athletes from across the
country. It is a celebration of our sport and a key milestone on the road to international
representation for many of our athletes."
