
Australian Taekwondo is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Harris to its Board as an Appointed Director, effective from October 2025. Her appointment follows a rigorous selection process through the AT Nominations Committee, highlighting her strong qualifications and fit for the role.
Julie brings more than 20 years of experience in business management across a range of roles, with the ability to contribute significantly to strategic planning, project management, people management, financial budgeting and management, stakeholder engagement, contracts, marketing and public relations and public speaking. Her career has spanned roles in large corporations, federal government, and research consultancies.
With formal tertiary qualifications in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration, Julie is also a passionate Taekwondo participant herself, being a 5th Dan as well as a 1st Class referee.
Speaking on her appointment, Julie said “I’m delighted to have joined the Board of Australian Taekwondo. Martial arts, and especially taekwondo, have played an important role in my life, and I’m passionate about helping to create opportunities for others to experience the same sense of community, growth and achievement. I look forward to working with the team to elevate taekwondo in Australia to new heights, in close consultation with our Member States across the country.”
