Australian Taekwondo is proud to announce the Senior World Championship Selection Event, set to take place on Saturday May 31st at the Whitlam Leisure Centre, Sydney. This prestigious event will determine the athletes who will represent Australia at the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships G-14 in Wuxi, China from 24th October 2025 - 30th October 2025.

Event Details:

  • Weigh-In: Friday May 30th
  • Referee Meeting: May 30th
  • Coach Meeting: May 30th
  • Random Weigh In: May 31st
  • Event: Saturday May 31st
  • Venue: Whitlam Leisure centre, 90a Memorial Drive, Liverpool

Random Weigh-in:

Saturday 31st May at 8am (1 attempt only)

Location:  Whitlam Leisure centre, 90a Memorial Drive, Liverpool

* Random Weigh-in Selected athletes will be posted at 6am on Saturday 31st May 2025. All Athletes selected must attend the random weigh-in. Failure to attend will result in disqualification.

** Random Weigh-in list will be posted on the AUS TKD website event page.

Competition:

31st May 2024 from 9am onwards

Location: Whitlam Leisure centre, 90a Memorial Drive, Liverpool

* Marshalling commences at 8:20am.

 

IMPORTANT

REQUIRED ACCREDITATION AND MEMBERSHIP

  • All Athletes must have upgraded their Basic Membership to a National Athlete Licence (NAL) prior to registration. For more information on this, please contact your club.

FISU World University Games 2025

We are pleased to announce that selections for the 2025 FISU World University Games, to be held in Essen, Germany from July 17–23, will also take place during this event.

Important Information for Athletes Seeking Selection:

  • Any athlete wishing to be considered for selection to the FISU World University Games must declare their intent during the event registration process.
  • Athletes must also provide details about their current university enrolment, including:
  • Name of the university.
  • Proof of enrolment (to be submitted upon selection acceptance).
  • Only athletes who are actively enrolled in a recognised university at the time of the Selections or the Games will be eligible for consideration in accordance with FISU eligibility guidelines.
  • The athlete who places first within their weight division will be presented with the selection opportunity, provided they have declared their intent and meet all eligibility requirements.
  • If the first-place athlete is unable or ineligible to accept the selection opportunity, it will be offered to the next highest-placed eligible athlete in that division.

Failure to declare your intent during registration or to provide proof of university enrolment upon selection may result in ineligibility for FISU selection.
