2023 World Championships Senior Selections head to NSW

7 December 2022

Australian Taekwondo is pleased to announce the 2023 World Championships Senior Selections will be held in Penrith, NSW, on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Selections will take place for the Senior National Team, who will represent Australia at the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, from May 29 to June 4, 2023.

This selection event is slated to be a pathway to Olympic selection (pending Australian Olympic Committee approval) and is one of several domestic competitions proposed as mandatory events for athletes to be considered for 2024 Olympic selection.

In the coming weeks, Australian Taekwondo will announce the Australian International Open and Oceania Presidents Cup, which will be held in Brisbane from July 7-10, and the 2023 National Championships. All three competitions are proposed as mandatory events for 2024 Olympic Selection consideration.

Australian Taekwondo is looking forward to an exciting lead-up to the 2024 Olympics, commencing with our 2023 World Championship National Team Selection in February.

Further information and details about the 2023 World Championship Selection will follow in the coming weeks.
